Riyadh: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) announced on Wednesday that Allam, the Arabic Large Language Model serving Saudi Arabia and Arabic speakers worldwide, has been included in IBM's Watsonx data platform at the IBM Think 2024 conference during its pilot phase, and has been recognized as one of the best generative models in Arabic globally.
Watsonx is IBM's commercial generative AI and scientific data platform based on the cloud.
At the annual conference, Essam Al-Waqeet, Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, praised the Watsonx platform for its exceptional technical capabilities in enabling large language models, simplifying machine learning, and enhancing AI governance, compliance, and hybrid cloud deployment flexibility. He also commended the global use of Allam, which significantly strengthens SDAIA's leadership position in the field of AI.
Al-Waqeet said, "It is well known that large language models trained on high-quality data are the foundation for the successful implementation of generative AI, and Allam has been trained on more than 500 billion linguistic units in Arabic. We will seek to expand the addition of high-quality data and work to improve the accuracy of its models."
He reaffirmed SDAIA's commitment to making Allam the best generative AI model in the Arabic language globally.
Al-Waqeet also invited the participants at IBM Think 2024 to join the third Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, organized by SDAIA, to be held in Riyadh from September 10-12 later this year.
