According to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, the total number of visits to SaudiArabia in 2022 was approximately 93 million. The majority of tourist visits are concentrated in major cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, and Medina. These cities are witnessing rapid growth in the tourism sector, with the Saudi government investing in developing tourism infrastructure and launching major tourism projects.

Saudi Arabia has developed and continues to develop tourist attractions leveraging its natural wealth, whether it's historical heritage, seas rich in life and beauty, or innovative cities.

  • RedSea Project: A leading global tourist destination located on the Red Sea coast, comprising a group of islands, beaches, and luxury resorts.

     

  • Qiddiya: A cultural and entertainment destination located north of Riyadh, featuring numerous museums, historical landmarks, and entertainment activities.
  • Neom City: A futuristic smart city located in the northwest of the kingdom, housing various tourism and technological projects.
  • Diriyah Gate: A cultural and historical site celebrating the rich history of Saudi Arabia, located in the suburbs of Riyadh.
  • AlUla: A historical and natural region located in the north of the kingdom.
  • Al-Soudah Mountain Project: A massive tourism project aimed at developing the mountainous region of Al-Soudah with its cool summer climate, establishing numerous resorts, hotels, and other tourist facilities.

Saudi Arabia's announced plan to attract 150 million visits by 2030 is a bold step towards diversifying its economy and establishing itself as a leading global tourist destination.
