The company, named Alat, meaning "machine," is backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and was announced by the Crown Prince. Its primary focus areas include semiconductors, smart devices, smart buildings, smart healthcare, advanced industry, and next-generation infrastructure.
The company aims to use clean energy to help Saudi Arabia achieve its goal of zero carbon emissions by 2060.Alat is projected to create 39,000 job opportunities and generate a production value of $9.33 billion by the year 2030.
Amit Midha, former President of Dell for Asia Pacific and Japan, has been appointed as the CEO of Alat.
