Japan and Saudi Arabia accelerate collaboration on "Saudi-Japan Vision 2030"

Following the expansion of cooperation between South Korea and Saudi Arabia, Japan is not lagging behind. During the visit of the Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources to Japan, close collaboration between Japan and Saudi Arabia has commenced.

On the occasion of the visit to Japan by Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Khorayef, a strategic partnership has been established with the Japan Metals and Energy Security Association to expedite the realization of the "Saudi-Japan Vision 2030."

The Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources stated that Saudi Arabia possesses abundant mineral resources, and many cutting-edge technologies from Japan are indispensable. Collaboration between the two nations is expected to be mutually beneficial. The minister also met with numerous Saudi scholarship recipients studying in Japan, expressing that the youth of Saudi Arabia have grand aspirations, and talent development is an essential pillar for Saudi Arabia's development. The current focus is on ensuring that Saudi youth are internationally competitive.

Furthermore, the minister held discussions with Ken Saito, the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan, exploring various possibilities for developing partnership relations. Emphasis was placed on deepening the cooperative relationship established during the Crown Prince's visit to Japan in 2016, which led to the "Saudi-Japan Vision 2030."

In addition to mining, the two countries are expanding cooperation in various areas such as food and agricultural security, healthcare, infrastructure, and financial investment.
