Today, the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced an agreement that makes the Kingdom a primary tourist destination for Chinese tourists.
Under this agreement, Chinese citizens can travel to the Kingdom through tourist groups.
- On this occasion, Minister of Tourism, Ahmad Al-Khatib, highlighted the agreement as a testament to the strong bilateral ties and joint efforts in tourism, trade, and technology. The Kingdom aims to attract up to 3 million Chinese tourists annually by 2030.
- On his part, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism in the People's Republic of China stated that this agreement represents an important step in the ongoing relationship since the establishment of ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China, which strengthens mutual understanding, respect, and appreciation, and we are committed to cooperating and developing relations to achieve common goals.
The Saudi Tourism Authority continues its efforts with its partners from travel, tourism, and Saudi aviation companies by organizing 4 tourism trade exhibitions and signing several partnerships to develop experiences and products for Chinese tourists.
- Directional signs in Chinese have been placed at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
- Saudi representatives who speak Chinese have been added to the tourist care center.
- A comprehensive promotional campaign will soon be launched to welcome visitors from the People's Republic of China.
China has been listed as one of the 57 countries eligible for:
- Electronic visa
- Visa upon arrival
- In addition to issuing transit visas that allow a stay of up to 96 hours before reaching the final destination.
- The "Spirit of Saudi" platform has added the Chinese language to its list of supported languages.
- Electronic payment solutions suitable for Chinese tourists have been provided.
